Hey guys, if you are not busy this weekend come out and support the Nanaimo River Hatchery by entering the 2nd annual Alberni Outpost Pink Salmon Kayak derby.

There's still lots of fish around in front of the millstone and down towards the crab dock. Another place that was holding a lot of fish a couple weeks ago was departure bay beach right next to the ferry. I haven't been down there for a couple weeks but this time last year it was loaded with pinks. Last time i fished small green flies were the top producer. Good luck
