Naden Lodge

I am looking at booking a fishing trip for myself and my fiancee next summer. I was looking at mid July to early August but those dates could be flexible. We would be looking for a fully guided trip and I usually prefer a small place to a larger operation. Naden Lodge is one of the resorts that seems to fit the bill for me. I have never fished the west coast and my thoughts are a 4 day trip with salmon and halibut/bottom fish fishing. I guess the main questions I have are, 1) Any experience with Naden Lodge out there, good or bad? 2) Any other suggestions for Lodges or areas? 3) Fishing is fishing but on a 4 day trip what are the odds of catching and releasing Chinook in the 30-40 pound range and halibut say 75 pounds or bigger? 4) If I am hoping for the best odds for a good size salmon and halibut both what would be the best timeframe to go?

I appreiate any insight you can give me.

I am open to any suggestions. I am not familiar with the area and from some very early research that seemed like a decent area and time frame for weather, good fishing, and to combine decent size salmon and halibut. If i am off in my thoughts or there are better options please throw any ideas or information at me. thanks!

If it's large Chinook you want then it's an excellent choice-usually more fish out of Ukee or Tofino but smaller size.

Naden Lodge is good. Request Garrett as your guide.... he get more giants than anyone up there

He had 3 or 4 60's las year

harrisons cove lodge!!!! check it out online..!! great guides;}

If you are not sold on the Charlottes/ Haida Gwaii then I would suggest the Mid coast. My thoughts are that it is flatter water, more varied scenery, just as much wildlife more interesting areas to hunt salmon due to the changing coastline. Fishing was about the same as the Langara area. I went to North King Lodge but I am sure all the lodges in the area are just as good. Boats were great also. Good luck.

Stayed at Naden Lodge 4 years ago. I had a great experience, good home cooked meals, great owners, guides very good aswell, boats and tackle top notch. If you go to the charlottes, Naden Lodge would be my first choice. That being said one of my bucket lists is to go fish rivers inlet ;)

Have taken guests to Naden Lodge on different ocassions over the last few years and have nothing but the best to say about them. Nice lodge, great food and damn good fishing. I agree with the mid island being good but I've really enjoyed the Charlottes and done well on every trip.

If you haven't already. I would consider Serengetti Fishing charters out of Port Hardy BC. They will always get my money. They have put My father my buddies and myself all on the biggest fish of our lifetime! Thats got to be somthing to be said.

Family run buisness and they are great people. Friendly and professional!

We fished with them in the middle of August this year. Feel free to message me about my trip!

-Cheers

Naden lodge hands down................I have guided with Matt Brown and know most of the other guides up there and they will put you on the fish...........period. The Boats are some of the finest you will find anywhere, brand new whaler conquest 25 footers.

Wow, thanks for all the input. I will check out the other suggested locations/outfits as well. Anymore feedback on my question regarding timing and realistic expetations for halibut and salmon size? Thanks!
