50th Anniversary

My husband and I have salt water fished mostly in south Louisiana, dove in Florida(lol). But for our anniversary I would love to take him fishing in Alaska or Canada. There are sooo many outfits, so I’m looking for experienced fishermen that have stayed at these all inclusive resorts. Forums have taught me about crossbows, so please show me excellent halibut fishing resorts. Thanks!

If you want halibut you need to look at Alaska. BC has far stricter limits than Alaska and have limitations on size. If you catch a larger fish then you can only keep that one.

Check out the West Coast Fishing Club on Haida Gwaii. Awesome salmon, halibut and bottom fishing. Their two lodges are super close to the fishing grounds (5-10 minutes), are all-inclusive from Vancouver, and have a much longer season than other areas on the coast of BC.

Not cheap trips, but the fishing, lodging, food and service will blow your mind!

Full disclaimer, I work for the lodge. Here are photos from my trip in September this year:

X2 , westcoast fishing club or langara .

Cheaper option would be Murphys , established operation that puts fish on the deck at a lower price point .

With being American I don't think we can possible compete with some of the options theirs are in Alaska for you if your looking for a next level meat haul.

Halibut yes, chinook salmon would be a no. We have been getting better returns, have a longer season and more generous limits for chinook vs. SE AK.

I had a guy who lives in Ketchikan, AK swing by our office last week looking at coming to our lodge because the salmon fishing around Ketchikan has been that poor over the last few years.

Not to mention the exchange rate these days, Americans are getting screaming deals!

Look at Moutcha Bay Nootka Sound. You can drive in to it, awesome boats for charter, good restaurant. Good access to Springs and Halibut.
