Muck Boots

Just bought a pair of Muck Wetland Boots. What great boots. Socks were dry at the end of the day. Feet were warm. Boots are 2 inches higher then my old fishing boots. Tyee Marine had the best price I could find on them in Canada. $119

All I had on was a set of sport socks. (On my feet that is) :)

If you know of a better deal on these let me know as I want to order another pair.

Was pretty proud of myself for getting a great deal, buying online for $70. Then saw them for sale at this price at Lee Valley. Ah well. Highly recommended!

Mucks are 3 inches taller.... Which is what I like when beach launching. Which I do 90% of the time. They feel like your wearing slippers. Wish I owned these when I guided and commy fished cause them old school boots don't come close to feeling like these do on your feet.

Another vote for Bogs. Comfy, can wear them all day, and watertight.

I bought some bogs at Fritz's Shoes in Penticton they are around $70 and they are great!!!!

I bought a pair and wore them up in the tundra this fall. They are very comfortable and my feet didn't sweat. The other guys were wearing dunlops and had to change their socks a couple of times during the day. The muck boots are rated to -40 but luckily it didn't get to cold -16 and warm feet. No more snow packs for me.

I purchased my Mucks (Model: Edgewater tall’s) from Buckerfields in Saanichton for $89 sale price in September. I love them for fishing! When hunting this fall I was dragging a Blacktail out of a cut this year unfortunately I punctured a whole in the Neoprene part of the boot about 3inch above the ball of my ankle. I have patched it with a neoprene wader patch kit and so far so good.
Pros: The most comfortable boot I have ever worn, Light, totally waterproof and not to hot on the feet. Great for fishing and hiking.
Cons: The neoprene is .... well, neoprene. Not very tough for tromping through the brush. Not very good for hunting in thick branchy areas. If you snag them on a branch they will rip.

better then the old stand by?

I've had my dunlops for 4 years of year round fishing and they're still like brand new.

If you want Muck boots for hunting you have to go with their actual hunting boots(woody elite series)...They have some higer end hunting boots that retail for around 180-$210..All the hunters in my wifes family have them and love them...Those Dunlops look like plain old rubber boots with better treads....Muck boots are meant to be breathable and water proof, and be good down to -20 at the same time. They were originally designed for people working the feed lots with cows, when it is sloppy and muddy and yet will be well below freezing.

My dad has muck boots as one of his sales lines that he reps in Alberta if you are wondering why i know alot about them.

Ive tried the mucks and bogs on and they are comfortable. Do the black soles mark up the decks of your boats? I have tried to find a white sole on-line.

WOW... Way off topic.
I was looking at another pair of Mucks not something else. Nor am I looking to put Bama's in my boots. Bama's are great but the boot your puting them into still sucks.

Just make sure your boots are a size bigger then you need or you will not get your feet in the boots. But your boot will still suck and your arches will still be in pain.

My Mucks are light colored souls no marking even in the house.

You would think a Rodgers Fishing Lodge employee would know how to google, well I guess they just don't make them like they used to.

jk

Anyone know who might carry Mucks or Bogs in Nanaimo or Victoria?? Seems like they are both great.... I need a pair of comfy boots!

TroTac has a bunch of nice boots. Gorge and Jutland. Im deliberating what to get, my Bogs blew a seam which I thought was just a fake seam. They were nice. Muck site has tons! hmm I saw Buckerfeilds out on Keating has some Bogs for 89- but were the mid height ones. Mabey Integrity Sales out there, worth a phone call. You really need two pairs depending on how and where your fishing. Looking into Mucks will let you know what I find.
