rebuilding a transom ???
had a small play around with hydroban board which is a foam board we use for wet areas in tiling bathrooms etc
for building seats or pannels does take polyester resin ok the exposed edge can be sealed and you have very cheap /lightweight building board..... 3'X5' 1/2" thick cost is around $40 bucks and totally rot proof ...
