Milltown boat lift structural failure

Anyone know what happened to the lift at Milltown? I got an email from them yesterday, and I know there are a few other forum members are in the drystack. Hopefully they didn't drop a boat and everyone was safe.

Marine Lift Structural Failure​

Hello,​ Today, unfortunately, we had a structural failure of our boat lift. The damages are being assessed. At the moment we do not have an exact time line of the repair that will be needed...?​

It broke while they were lifting a boat. I’m not sure if the boat fell but a piece of the structure swung and struck an employee. He’s apparently ok thank God. Single point of failure problem for sure. They need an entire inventory of every part in case this happens. Think they’re waiting for parts to get it back on stream.

If it's the warf mounted lift then we'll, good luck to them getting it repaired quickly. That was a custom built unit. I remember it had problems when it was first put together and took them forever to get it completed. Can't remember all the details but you get the jist.

A buddy is the operations guy for all things Musqueam; he had told me that it was back up I think sometime in November?
