Merc 50 hp ECU for your 40 hp motor

take off from my 50hp motor, as i purchased the 60hp ecu. the 60 cost me $1544, so yes, very bloody expensive. was worth it to me, for my boat. the packaging is from the one i purchased and i have the bill to prove it. i can also walk you through the install, which is pretty easy, and i'm not that handy. there is a restrictor plate required for the intake manifold, which is included (not in the photos). if you feel your 40 is underpowered on your boat, this will work wonders and is a lot cheaper than a new motor. any questions, just ask. $900 for the 50 ECU.

Cool mod! I might do the same to my Merc 50. Price is not bad for a 20% HP gain. Did you change your prop as well? Please update after you do a sea trial.

oh yes, prop repitch is a certainty. i've been running the 'new' motor for 6 months. a big improvement in every respect. felt a bit underpowered before, and now it very much feels goldilocks. not so doggy out of the hole, 5 mph increase in top speed. i wouldn't want more for my boat, the way i use it, which is 2 people most the time. did one trip last year where 3 guys hauled in 4 days worth of camping gear, food and water and it was just before i got the 60 ECU. still got on plane but took forever. i will very rarely load the boat like that.
