Marine surveyor victoria - sooke

Hey guys

In the process of trying to get marine insurance and getting a bit of run around where I did a lot of the installs myself. Looking to get a survey done to:

1) ensure I didn't screw anything up
2) provide a realistic objective price of what it should be insured for.

Can anyone recommend a good surveyor that services victoria area (sooke). In 2012 I used meadows marine and it went OK- just looking for updated feedback on anyone south island.

Thanks guys - called him today, unfortunately he said he wouldn't be available to do any surveys until Sept ( I didn't ask why).

I used boat butler, the son is based in Nanaimo but his dad (dale) is in Vic (or area). I would recommend them

My insurance company gave me a list of Victoria area surveyors and I have gone twice with Kelly Thody of Total Boat Marine Surveyors -- https://www.totalboatmarine.com/. He always finds something minor to upgrade, but I think he's fair.

Avoid boat Butler, he looked at a boat a couple of years ago with a de-laminated stringer that he totally missed. He was more concerned with fire extinguishers and life jackets ….the boat was on a trailer.
