Checked out Husky in Courtenay--$1.30.9 / liter for marine

Gas and Go on the Dyke Road---$1.29.9/ liter

Shell at the bottom of Mission Hill--- $1.26.9/ liter

Shell gets my business for now... But it still sucks-- the excuse is that they are providing mid grade-- Well excuse me-- I dont need that. Regular without the road tax will do just fine.

But how many of us boaters will just quietly fill up and say nothing ??

I think I paid closer to 1.50 over here for my last fill up at the marina

Not everyone wants 87 octane in their machinery. Pistons don't work well with holes on top. Just be glad your not in the lower wasteland.

$1.359 at the Co op here in Victoria CL. No idea what it is at the marinas. You're not doing too bad.....

Husky really blew it with this move. There used to be lineups of boats filling up there before they moved on to the west coast etc. They lost all my business and alot of other local boaters and farmers as well. Very dumb corperate decision in my opinion.;) eman

Don't feel bad about gas prices

Went to check out fuel sales on Okanagan Lake on Weds, 87 octane = $1.87 lt. Prices at the local gas stations $1.32
Then Friday came around and price at the gas stations jumped to $1.43. Fuel on the water is probably $1.98 lt.

I only run 89+ octane in the OB, so add some more $$ on each lt.

I did find marked gas in Kelowna but the pump was marked 87 octane so I asked and the guy and he said it was 87. In Victoria marked gas is 89 octane.

I pulled the boat to the gas station and put 350 lt. (it holds 511 lt) into it . Saved just about $ 200 for a 1.5 hr trip to the gas station

You must have a real big boat to have .04 cents a liter make a differance for you. If you purchased 300 liters you save a whole $12 I bet you burned more than $12 fuel towing your boat between locations!!!

I paid $1.60 for Mid Grade at Coal Harbour. The attendant made a point about there being no ethanol in it.
How big a deal is ethanol in fuel for boats?

No-- I run a 115 merc 4 stroke. And I didnt drag the boat around. I made a point of stopping to check the prices while driving around in my wifes Hyundai . I used to go to the Safeway Gas bar-- where I got a 5 cent a litre discount for shopping there.. Over the past 2 years saved hundreds on our two vehicles and the boat. So-- back to my point-- are you happy getting gouged by big oil??

Obviously not pissed off enough to do something about it. All we have to do is avoid one brand for a month with the message that someone else will be next...until prices reflect the true cost of production plus taxes plus a reasonable profit. Also any long weekend price increases will result in the same boycott to the station brand who was first to put their prices up!!! Easy...hurts them and you can stlil buy gas and drive.

FYI midgrade 1.53 in Coal Harbour today...not having ethanol in marine fuel is a huge deal..lots of papers on the internet explaining why

$ 1.55 at False Creek , with no road tax this is a total gouge.....time to boycott this guy.
funny thing is vancouver harbour , mosquito creek are just as back , highest in lower mainland.
time to put Tidy tank in back of truck and buy elsewhere. a bit of a hazzle but sure saves$
anyone know what horshoebay is or fishermans cove?

I here you CL... gave up on Husky last year when they let go all the local contractors and brought in "out of country" guys to build their new tarsands plant in Fort Mac. Nice.... if that's how they roll then they don't get my money for fuel. I switched over to co-op and became a member. Don't know how their rebate system works because I have not been on it for very long. In theory you get some money back at the end of the year and that drops the price even more. The station is close and I can swing the truck and boat in with no problems. There is also one on the way to CR that has more room for larger boats.

It is ironic that the provincial government will fine companies if they find in an audit that they mistakenly collected pst on items or services that are exempt. The province is collecting road tax on purchases of fuel where the fuel is being used in boats, lawn mowers, off road equipment etc. All because they haven't come up with an easy way for the consumer to purchase any fuel at any station simply by swiping a card that registers that purchase. Gee...but that might give them some idea of who are the big purchasers of road tax exempt fuel and allow them to check a few of them to ensure all is on the up and up.....naahhhh makes to much sense it will never happen.
