No catch and release permitted for smallmouth Bass in the Margaree River watershed in Cape Breton Nova Scotia. The Margaree River is the premier Atlantic Salmon River in Nova Scotia.

If anglers catch a smallmouth bass or chain pickerel in those areas, they must euthanize the fish humanely and retain it. Tossing it back or keeping a live one could lead to a fine of up to $100,000 for a first offence and up to $500,000 for a second offence with the possibility of two years' jail time

True
once bass get into a water way it is pretty much impossible to remove them unfortunately :(
True... but at least they are a sportfish and dont taste too bad. No such luck with goldfish. The lastest mess of goldfish...https://www.lakecowichangazette.com/news/fishy-situation-over-1700-goldfish-pulled-from-vancouver-island-pond-7605231 BTW- I have caught some pretty big carp in the Fraser River but after looking at where they came from near farms, I have never eaten one even though I know that they are a delicacy on some European countries. Anyone here tried them ?
