Main Lakes, Quadra Island Fishing?

Anyone know if there is any fishing action on Quadra Island Main Lakes chain? We are doing a weekend canoe trip there and I'm trying to decide if buying a fresh water fishing licence will be worth while. I'm thinking that the lakes will be pretty warm now, and maybe not the best for fishing?

average size 4# ,at least thats what the boy scouts said about staying on the island in main lk.If I remember there trip was in the late spring.
