There's the Mac deep jigging lure...

and Delta makes the Mac Fish jigging lure pictured below...

The Mac Deep has an "S'" bend.......the Mac Fish is more "straight".....

They are both almost identical in color.........

Which do you like better?

The Mac Fish is less money than the Mac Deep....

Have always loved the Macdeep, I've seen the Mac fish, at least they could have been a little more original on the name. And for that I will stick with the original.

MacDeep's are good, never tried the Mac Fish but my current fav is the L'il Nib.

Killer around the Big Q for Springs when it's go time.

A buddy of mine got me into jigging MacDeeps in bait balls. I thought it was stupid until we landed seven springs in one night. Now I'm a believer. Plus it keeps the kids entertained, and the occasional ling and other incidentals will hammer them as well. I've bought MacFish, as they are cheaper and tried to mimic the bend of the macDeep. They work just fine.

The Mac Deeps (real deal) are expensive. But when you look at the difference, I'm not going to risk the few bucks not to have the real deal and -maybe- miss fish personally! Considerable difference in the bend between both types.
That being said I don't really jig for salmon...

My problem with Mac Deeps is they fall apart really fast, 5 salmon and it looks like you've put it through a wood chipper. Pretty sure Gibbs/delta bought out the manufacturer, so any remaining Mac deeps in stores are the last batch of them..... I could be wrong on that.

Old Pete (Trotac Marine mentor) used to say...." I quickly discovered I could catch more fishermen"...:)

Ha Ha Ha.....that works on this site allright... all you have to do is invent a lure and then post one pic of it in a fishes mouth.......build it and they will come......by the hundreds , nay thousands.....

Ten percent of lures hanging in a tackle shop are for the ten percent of fishermen that always catch fish.

The other 90 percent of lures hanging there are for the people that never catch anything but think those will work.....

Seriously though...as you look back through fishing history at some of the weird things that have been successful for salmon........it really makes you wonder......

There have been some strange rig-ups, spoons and plugs plus other gizmos that have seriously caught fish in times gone by......
