OMG!

Just had a look at Luhr Jensens Coyotes which were made in China...

They've changed the glow stuff over to "Everglo" stuff which doesn't glow unless you charge the crap out of it, there are imperfections all over the finish on the back of the spoons--but it is a shinier finish, and the hooks are NOT stainless steel. They're some cheapo crap hooks which will probably be totally unsharpenable after a half days fishing.

Almost all the finishes I saw were changed substantially, the Army Truck spoons doesn't even look the same.

If you have a favorite Luhr Jensen---buy all you can...and squirrel them away!!!! The days of quality Luhr Jensen Coyote Spoons are

T O A S T .

i`m guessing the new ones are marked "made in china"off 2 buy up some today. fricken nice day out so far

I'm changing all my hooks now to Mustads as soon as I buy them and am experimenting with spray painting the painted side with verathane to try and stop the paint from flaking off after 2 or 3 trips. The paint doesn't scratch anymore it just flakes off in big patches. Will see if the verathane helps.... Rubbing them all over with herring oil before I use them, don't seem to be having a scent problem.... Nothing like "ready to use" out of the package gear :(

Anyone want to start up a West Coast lure company??? Think I see a local opportunity about to happen, but "Not the crappy built in China Coyote Lures Company Ltd." might be a little long for a name :)

yup..they say Made in China alright..and you can spot 'em a mile away without looking where they are made.

What a downer....

i recently had a green glow coyote go from fishing well and glowing, to to not fishing and black[xx(]
im not liking this much

Gibbs Gator spoons work well too, BUT they do come wtih crap hooks. I hvae had good luck with 'em trolling fast because they are quite heavy, but the paint on 'em is really thick so it chips easily. Coyotes, at least the green ones are plated and last longer. Of course, now that they are being pinched off in China who knows.
