Lowrance Elite 7x HDI Fishfinder

Anyone using one of these units ? Likes and dislikes ? Looking for just a fish finder, already have two GPS chart plotters on the boat. Need to upgrade at least one of my two fish finders on the boat. Considering this unit; Lowrance Elite 7x HDI Fishfinder w/ 83/200 kHz + 455/800 kHz (HDI)

Mine is HDS 7 Gen 2, not quite same as Elite? Or is the difference just the mapping? Screen is likely same. Navigation through menus is easy, screen is bright and reads fine in direct sunshine, you just need to select a colour scheme that gives good contrast between sonar background and depth readout numerals. I've had some issues with transducer reading poorly or not at all at full plane, mostly adjustment related (transom mount basic trans). Solid equipment so far after one year.

The Elite 7 does not have the same sonar as a HDS7. It was a rumour that they were the same minus the radar. Total BS......

I'd contact Harbour Chandler they will lead you in the right direction at the right price.

Best bang for your buck if your looking for a basic unit comes with chip too
