Lowrance Autopilot acting up

Has anyone else had this happen where the direction line is off kilter with the directional arrow? Happend a little while ago but "fixed" itself. Then did it again. When I use the AP it goes off on its own. I tried re calibrating it.

God I hated that. Sometimes it can be a source of interference (speaker) too close to your directional doohickey.

This, if you have a magnetic based heading sensor they are very sensitive to any magnetic fields placed near them. Things with electric motors (trap pullers, vacuum packers, etc.) are common culprits too.

But usually that will only add a few degrees of error. This looks like it might be a calibration issue or something else (unless you’ve recently moved something with a strong magnet near the heading sensor).

Subscribing to hear how this goes. On mine the line ahead is off 10-15* randomly left or right of the actual track but the point-1 (puck, aka doohickey) is almost under the radar. The direction arrow is not as noticeably off. Temporarily removing radar is on the list to do to test out and then move things around eventually.

Yes, I am struggling with the same problem. I have calibrated multiple times and it is good for a bit and then it goes off again. I’ll check the “doohickey”
