Looking for some help diagnosing a Yamaha 115 water leak

Popped the cowling off and noticed a bit of a leak from this part of the intake. Thinking I may have a leak from this part as evident from the salt crystals. Starboard side, upper part of motor. Cleaned away the salt crystals and looked like a bit of corrosion on the metal “male” part. Thinking of either tapping the black fitting a bit in hopes of tightening the seal, or else pull the fitting off and inspect. I worry about getting the fitting back on though. Pulled up the parts schematics but can’t quite place this part. Some part of the water intake. Any suggestions on best course of action?

Hey Nick, I don't know how those fittings mount to that exhaust cover. Exploded views don't show it either. It comes with the exhaust cover.

My guess would be probly an NPT fitting that threads into the exhaust cover. The salty deposites probly grew inside all the little non-displaced areas in between the threads. The aluminum is not happy there. Those exhaust cover bolts can be a real PIA to get out in most cases. Make sure the bolts get greased if you do end up removing the cover. Need to use some kind of gasket maker that stays in place but doesn't cure all the way like a permatex aviation type on that fitting going into the exhaust cover. It's probly why they don't sell that fitting. You'll never get it out without tapping it again.
