ya funny im starting quite the collection of johnson 70's, still going to try and make one from the three , but like trendsetter said, without boring it out it will probably run like a bag of crap, yet to be seen because we are still waiting on gaskets and rings.., funny how my buddy was all excited saying this motor was running.. what he meant was it was running 6 years ago when it sunk tied to the dock and was submerged for 2 days then sat for 6 years to seize up...kinda funny how the story gets misconstrued to guy who needs the motor..lol

the funny part was three weeks ago i coulnt find one of these anywhere now they are coming out of the woodwork left and right.. if i could find a complete running one for the right price would be good..waiting to here back from a guy in sanich who has two for sale.

I've been on a three day Johnson bender mine at cv marine it's a 96 70 hp compression is perfect but it kicks down to one cylinder because one won't fire properly so they all won't fire in a row tirimming it up gets it going again good five minute run then back to one cylinder might be electrical or a coil I feel your pain and have good hangovers to prove it

i found a complete boat today same hull & motor as mine in better condition, beautiful top and everything ..the boat name was High hopes.. phoned as soon as i seen ..i had high hopes but nada..SOLD.

16' project boat w/ running 70hp evinrude - $1000 (Campbell River)
16' fiberglass boat 91 70hp evinrude 2stroke runs good. Motor has part of the old steering cable stuck in tilt tube. Comes w/ 2 portable gas tanks and controls. Hull needs work. Needs new helm and steering cable or convert to hydraulic. Is on galvanized trailer. Trailer is in decent shape needs new rims and tires. Decent project boat I don't have the time. Motor and trailer are worth the $$. Out in camp will post pics when I get home next week. 1000 obo
