My family and I will be staying in Telegraph Cove in July for a couple of days. The four of us like to go fishing for salmon and halibut one day, so I need recommendations for a good guide that can get my kids into some fish. I would prefer to leave out of Telegraph Cove so I wouldn't need to unhook the RV.

I'd appreciate your help.

Thanks.

Gordie and Roy who own the older section of Telegraph cove guide out of there but I would think you need to pre book.

"Who would have ever thought it would be this much fun catching them one at a time"

Gordie, Roy and Leo are the three out in Telegraph. They all know what they are doing and have fished that area for a long time. I would call and get booked as they are super busy out there in the summer time.

What are the company names for Gordy and Leo? I'd like to look them up on the web.

Does Roy/Serengeti launch out of Telegraph Cove?

Thanks.

The only names I have come up with are Bill Mehan of Tie-E Charters and Dan of Discovery Charters or Full Contact Charters. Can you tell me anything about these guys.

I'd really like to learn more about Roy, Gordy and Leo. Can anyone tell me what company names they fish under? Where can I look them up?

A day fishing for 4 of us costs a lot of money for me, so I'm just trying to learn what I can so I pick wisely. I don't want the family to be disappointed.

Thanks!

Would highly recommend Roy - I would describe him as jolly and he would be great with kids. Last time we talked he was mentioning retirement, and may have already called it. Best way to find out is to call telegraph. From the website, its 1-800-200-HOOK (4665). I don't know Gordy personally so I can't say much about him, except his guests always seem to be smiling. If you cannot get a guide through telegraph for the days you would like, feel free to pm me. I know several excellent guides up there and I'm sure at least one would be happy to pick you guys up in telegraph.

Also, they won't have company names. Gordy owns telegraph and Roy is his brother. Both guide through the business of telegraph cove. I don't know Leo so I can't comment on him. Here is the telegraph website:

In the top right pic, Gordy is the taller one on the right.
Good luck

Thanks everyone for the info. I'm an avid fisherman from Portland Oregon, and I'm really looking forward to fishing in BC!

Roland would also be my first recommendation if the guys at tele are all booked up. I could put you in touch with him if you like.
