Loggers Derby: Road Conditions

Hi All.

Hoping to hit the ferry early Fri AM to get to the derby. How is it getting over the hump to Alberni. My buddy will be pulling my boat, don't think he has chains. Will they be required to get over the top.

We're taking the highway to Uki, which I assume is in reasonable shape. Not quite sure how much snow is left over there, so any info would be appreciated.

For the guys heading down the dirt to the Nook, how's the road getting there.

Hope to see some of the guys from the forum there, thanks in advance.

With this storm who' knows wtf it will be like ,
my gut feeling , there will sum trees on the road , ....
FD

Don't mean to highjack but the storm will be putting sum trees, deadheads, lost logs, and debris in the water as well. Be careful and have fun.

There will be few boats heading out on Friday Morning from Somas River, and we will be take our time comming out the inlet... I will be bringing the new chainsaw (never been used and hopefully wont need to)... good thinking Fogducker !...

""Look out for deadheads, lost logs, debris and an ugly "blue jet boat" in the water have fun"" ... LOL

see you all at the derby, say hi when you see us in that Blue Jet boat... Tom and Tommy...

Hope the roads are decent, but now the ferry may be a problem tomorrow morning. 60km winds predicted, the ferries better not be grounded or the mainland guys will all be SOL.

Hit me up for a beer if I make it over to the Nook, I should have plenty of anti freeze aboard.
