Mmm. Good food at Local. My brother in law opened that restaurant and was the head chef for a year. I've eaten there lots. He then took a job at Joey at Southcenter in Seattle, as he holds an american passport as well. I'd love to come, but I'm working. I'd love to meet some other salty guys locally. Maybe I'll see some of you on the water.

Not sure if anyone's coming from the Island, but there is one from the other forum flying in from the States. That's pretty cool that someone's willing to fly in from outside the country just to meet up with a bunch of the other online Salty guys. I hope someone else from the Island will head over so you guys can spit the costs of the ferry. That would make it a little more reasonable to justify a trip to the mainland for a booze up.

Hope you make it, sounds like there will be lots of guys from the mainland coming.

Post away, Holmes. You know it was only a good natured ribbin about you bein a Post *****. It would be nice for this post to stay near the top for the next week anyways. Hopefully, most of the guys who'd like to go will have seen this thread before the party on the 5th.

Hey Guys,

Just a bump on this thread; one of the members on here who isn't on the "other" forum at BCFR had sent me an e-mail today just to confirm if all is a go etc.

The Local Pub and Eatery is on Cornwall right across the street from Kits Beach (if you're familiar with the area the building was the old "Malones" which was there for a LONG time).

Time to meet is 3pm.....this Saturday November 5th. When you walk in the restaurant you'll see a "covered/enclosed" sort of patio area with heaters which is at the end of the big bar in the middle (it CAN be difficult to get your focus past the bar due to the "tenders" ). We apparently have the big area which is very comoforatable with booths, long tables and the stand up bar area all covered.

There isn't a "poll" to confirm numbers but I would think it sounds as though there may be at least 20 who'll be showing up? Don't quote me on that....it may be more/less but there has been quite a bit of interest on the 'other' forum as well.

I originally thought making a res for 20 might be a little overly optimistic. Now I'd say there will be at least 20, perhaps more coming on Saturday. For those that have to work or have other commitments during the day on Saturday, don't shy away because of the early meeting time. Come even if you can't arrive till later. I'm sure there'll still be plenty of guys there till much later in the evening. I know I'm planning on making a night of it, and will probably be there at least until the end of the football game.

Looking forward to meeting you all there.
