Once in awhile I stop into TNT to see what they have going on in the live tanks . Had a good chuckle when I see a tank of live wolf eels, they look like jive lines maybe 3 feet long . These would have to be farmed as wolf eels are protected ?
They were raising them at west van labs when I saw them. They are easy to grow in an aquaculture setting. They can be at a high density until they mature and become solitary hence why they are smaller specimens.
that place is savage. i remember being at the one in coquitlam center mall with my sons. we were looking at the tanks of tilapia and what not when all of a sudden the fishmonger reaches into a tank, grabs a nice sized live ling cod and bucks the head clean off with a cleaver. body flailing about. Customer wanted the head only?! soup i guess? anyways the looks on my boys faces was priceless.
