A Salute to the many who sacrificed so much...

Nice gathering at the CR cenotaph today.
Weather was cold, but no wind or precipitation, so it was great.
Pipe and drums were excellent as usual.
Impressive low pass from c130.
Came home to update my knowledge and introduce my daughters to the horrors of Dieppe.
Respect to those who gave so much.

Australia sent troops to Vietnam. This one captures a little of the despair, both during the war and afterwards. If we can't learn lessons from this and other wars, then best we forget.

I was in KMS tools on Thurs. and noticed they had a sign on the door saying closed on Fri. for Remembrance Day. I thanked the fellow who was showing me a dado blade and told him I appreciated the fact that they were closing for this very important day to honor our veterans from the past and present.. I also asked him to pass on my appreciation to his manager. I think that Costco closes as well. At least they used to.

Asked my grandchildren yesterday if they knew why they had the day off school and was pleased that they knew why and also how their great grandfather had served in the navy in WWll. Had to laugh when they asked if he had been killed. I said if he had been, everyone there except my wife wouldn't be there.
