My family war times started with the Boer war.....

Followed with the first World war (one of the first to encounter mustard gas) was disabled June 12th, 1918. Have his discharge papers from them...

Then my grandfather was a fire captain and ran a group watching the coast for invasion(s)

I visited the Canadian cemetery when I was in Caen. If you're overseas go pay your respects.

My Grandpa, like so many others laid it all on the line for us to have a better future. As more and more survivors pass with time, it’s so important for us to pass along the stories of sacrifice and heroism to the next generation’s.

I had to laugh at one vets dry humour in his answer when asked what it was like landing on Juno beach. “I got wet and I wasn’t welcome.” Now there is a man I’d like to have a drink of scotch with. I’d buy.
