Trying to figure out the magic of leader lenghts. Can you fish the same leaders for coho as chinook? and what about bait vs. a hootchie? I am new to the saltwater and looking for some info to solve some of my questions. anyone with some tips?

Thanks,RO

generally speaking, fish a shorter leader with hootchies and
squirts 32-36 " as the flasher imparts the action to the lure.
Longer leaders when using bait, especially fishing Springs in the
mid to late summer... 48"-96" depending on the day.
Coho will usually take on a shorter leader,as they seem to prefer
a fast action whether lures or bait.

42 for Coho, 72 for springs, but since there are so many freakin coho around, just go for the longer leaders.....
