Late august Fishing Trip

Hey Guys,


Getting married in late August and looking to do a honeymoon with some Salmon Fishing. Looking for a cabin or B&B rental with a dock. My soon to be wife has never caught a salmon so looking to find some chinooks. She get seasick worse than I do so 6 foot swells are not going to be a good maiden salmon trip and I would like her to have fun!!!

Honeymoon and fishing together? I'd say you've got a keeper! Bamfield in late August is a good bet as you have the inlet to keep you calm and vomit free. Congratulations.

Launch at clutesi, flat as a lake.
You still have the convieniences of a smaller town, if you want to do other stuff.

Moutcha Bay fall kayak derby or whatever it is.

Nootka Sound, Critter Cove. Fish inside. Lots of fish and lake calm water is easy to find. Put on a patch and don't worry about getting sick. You will want to try one day off shore.

SOOKE usually no fog calm days and nice slabs even "mr pro" can confirm that...

harrisons cove lodge .. 10 mins from toqat, great place check it out.. all the ammenities you need for a great honeymoon!!

All the places mentioned above would be great for fish and calm waters. With a wife and especially on a honeymoon I would pick somewhere she will have something else to do that she likes. Improves the odds that she would want to do it again. Would you want to go somewhere that only offers shopping on a trip with her?

JAC, are you bringing your boat with you? from okanagan? The gulf islands may a good choice for a honeymoon. super calm waters, lots of wildlife around (whales, eagles, etc.) and late august should be decent for salmon fishing in certain areas. There are a few really nice resorts with private villas/cabins that also have docks for your boat. If you're interested, PM me your details and I can give you more info on my fav spots.

My wife and I did this for our honeymoon and it was very nice, private hot tub and wood stove steam sauna. Fishing will be easy out of sooke and there should be plenty of fish around.

Thanks for all the info. I will be looking into all of these places so far sooke and the gulf islands look very good. I love critter cove been there a few times but I think its in my best interest to get the wife off the boat and to a spa or something like that??? So many choices its tough living in B.C, we are lucky to live here !!!!!
