Lake fishing on lower vancouver island

has anyone been catching any trout? I normally fish around langford lake elk, and prospect, I am thinking of going out this weekend, but am not sure if it has been any good. whats been working and where?

It should be heating up now, I have been a few times in the last two weeks and caught one nice trout about 18" and a few bass. I've been using rapala plugs.

If they LOWERED Vancouver Island it would all be a lake.

Picked up 3 at Elk lake today. Two about 16 inches, one just over 20. Had some other hits, all on standard files. Leech patterns, wooly buggars etc...

No surface activity to speak of other than carp flopping around. No insect hatches were evident.

Try Lookout lake in the morning or evening. The trout are small but there are lots of them!
