Kyuquot virgin late August

I'm going to be fishing Kyuquot around Union Island, last weekend of August for my first time. Are springs going to be kicking around still?

Touch and go. I was there last year on Labour Day and it was tough. 2 years ago a friend who lives there said 3 rd week of August, no tourists left and big fish were all around.

There is a slot limit on the inside waters for springs by that late, but you never know. Coho should be a plenty though!

Thanks Pippen. Kinda what I figured. We are going to be two boats, and we may try and make it out towards Brooks Buoy chasing tuners if the wind, weather, and water temperature permit. If all else fails, we can stay closer to land and smack a few Hali and some Hos.

Looks like we may hit the highway for a bit. Having never fished the highway, anyone awnt to give me a tip on how deep to fish? Last trip of the year, and would love to hit some fish for the winter. Thanks in advance!

was up there a 2 weeks ago, fishing around the structure 3-6 miles offshore between 160-210 ft. If all areas fail look for matt and his fleet of gradys, they know where the fish are. most fish were caught directly on the bottom, bump bottom with the rigger ball and crank it up a few turns. green and gold were the ticket and a clear UV hoochy killed them.

picked up our halibut trolling that way as well. If you sort through the chickens you should have no problem getting your larger one up to 35#. lings can be had off the south corner of thornton or inside the rocks youll pass on the way out.

any Qs feel free to pm me. know the area well and if past experience from this time of year holds true you should have no problem getting your fish
