Hey Gang,
As the title says, I am thinking of selling my 2009 - Hewescraft -180 Searunner. I hit a log back in August and has a cracked leg on the 115 Honda.
Both engines are original. I have owned the boat for around 10 years.
It has a garmin fish finder on it, 2 downriggers, and a prawn puller.
I have 2 trailers. 2008 Tandem and 2009 single. so either trailer could go with the boat.
I think current value needing repair would be around $40,000 - $45,000.

Just looking for some thoughts.
Thanks

Does it still run with the cracked leg? That way someone could still sea trial it. I’d scrounge up a used Honda and put it on. It would be a tough sell as is. Quite a few Searunners for sale right now, in WA and BC and nothing seems to be selling.
Yes, it does run. I brought it home with the cracked leg. I know it is easy to put a new leg/motor on it, but it just adds cost. It's just hard to find the time/energy to do all the things that need to be done on the "to do' list!!
If i need to i can throw it on the trailer and move it up north to fix it up.

Update: I will be listing this boat for sale in the coming weeks for about 32K. I'd like to get $30k out of it. If anyone here is interested send me a message and we can chat.

The message you're sending by offering it for sale with a cracked leg is "I don't care, I just want to be rid of this thing." People will question what else is wrong for you to walk away from a seemingly straightforwars fix. You'll be knocked down mercilessly on price.

Insurance should cover the motor repair?
insurance paid out...
I was underinsured...
It was in the shop last year and I spent 14k on steering, oil changes, electric trim tab upgrades and a few other items. I have another boat to replace this one for now, so i'd rather get it switched over from "lake boat" to "Ocean boat" and look at letting this on go to someone what wants a deal and has time to tinker.
I'm in school and don't have a lot of spare time. and really don't want to trust a shop at "shop rates".

Less than 20k usd. There is a big Honda Facebook group, might be able to find a leg on there. Good luck with the sale. I loved my searunner. Sent this on to two friends.
I agree, i so badly want to upgrade to a bigger one! just don't have the time right now!!
