KoneZone Daisy Chain Flasher.....

I have used inline rotating flashers...but never the KoneZone Daisy Chain....

I heard it's heavier than similar inlines.....and has lots of drag when down deep ( 150ft plus)..

Is this myth or fact?

Does it have less drag than a "normal" flasher....or more?

All I ever see around in stores is the translucent Chartreuse one with the cracked ice tape on them....is this THE hot color...or do other colors work better?

I've fished the Delta-style...there isn't much drag on those...but then again I only run two of those per side (one behind the other).

I busted out the KoneZone yesterday with good success (maybe it was my lure or presentation) but the KoneZone side took the hits. I was running the charteause with cracked ice. I fished it up to 220 feet, the drag was no different than when I ran my tackle off the cannonball (11" flasher/lure). I was really pleased and I LOVED the presentation of it in the water @ 2.5mph. I borrowed them (one in purple as well) from a Buddy who used them for wall decorations pretty much haha....don't know how quick I will be giving them back ;)

The KoneZones do not actually rotate as far as I know....they wobble and jiggle instead of rotating....

So not quite same effect as Agitators and Delta-style .....

They looked to be rotating to me.

I like that they run stream line from my cable with out wobble. They can be a benefit when running just a spoon or just bait no flasher.

I just got back from Thrasher. 1 konezone (which does rotate, only on its axis unlike reg. flashers) both fish hit the konezone with herring. Nothing else produced. Expensive, but I will be purchasing more.

Konezone was green

I use a green Kone zone daisy chain-very effective dummy-like to use it with the big pilchard spoons and also anchovy both without flashers of course. My what a sinking feeling if your ball departs the fix with that on. Bank loan time!!!!

Bingo, I ran them as a test as I would like to dump my mainline flasher in favor of naked spoons. The KoneZone is a great dummy, if not the best I have come across given my initial efforts.

edit: Jeffb clarified what I meant. It doesn't have a swing rotation like a regular flasher, but rotates inline, with little deviation from its axis.
2nd edit: seems you can get them direct from MFG, or at the seattle boat show they had a decent booth (probably the flashiest of all booths) with hundreds of daisy's hanging. I regret not buying them, they were a great price at the boat show, though I can't remember the exact cost.

I didnt run my Kone right off the ball, I lowered the ball several feet and attached it to the rigger cable. seemed to work great

I never run any thing right off my cannonballs. I always put them about 2 inches above on the main line as I want nothing to affect the track the cannonball is on.

I should clarify-I don't run anything right off the ball either I was only referring to a break in the cable or braid which happens to take everything-ball,kone zone, rigging and release clip- Ouch!!!

My 2 cents... once I have a feel for whats working, the first thing I ditch is conventional flashers and switch to a SINGLE Konezone dummy flasher clipped just above the ball. Run 'whatever' about 3' above the Konezone

I have two of the daisy chains the uv purple and the green/gold. they work great as a dummy flasher with bait or strait spoon usually out fishes the other side with conventional flasher. find the green/gold works better on the west coast. The only problem I have had with them is if you have a small shaker or a p cod or something small that you don't know you are dragging it can cause a nasty tangle.

This will be my third year running dummy flashers. Kone zone are awesome. the best color i found is the purple haze with that crushed/crached ice color. although the white and uv green hold there own. you can always run three flashers instead of four. i also took the links put between them and replaced them with bead swivels. the role is tighter and less chance if tangles. Trotac in Victoria have a pretty good selection. i always have run mine right off the ball.

the deltas are good, i usually run a tandam on the third downrigger when in use

I've been running dummy flashers and more recently, Kone's, straight off the ball for years. I haven't fought a fish on anything but a naked spoon or a naked herring with nothing between me and the hooks for as long as I can remember---How does something attached to the ball have any (more or less) effect on the "track" of the ball then something attached just above it?

If I lose something, it's usually the flasher breaking off the ball when it augers into a rock pile or if I hook a dogfish and it does the old dive under the flasher then swim up again then twist everything up into a tight hot mess

The theory goes that if you connect direct to the ball....then 100% of the pull is on the ball itself..which....tends to pull the ball up shallower from drag. But if you connect it a few feet above the ball...then the pull is on the line and not the ball.....so the ball is less affected by direct pull......

50 bucks..wow are these kone flashers just for dummy flashers or can you hook them inline?. my guess is that would be tough, popping it out of the release.. still dangling 50 bucks off the end or just above my $4o dollar cannonball scares me..guess ya gotta pay to play..so to speak...
