kitimat fishing

2 or 3 boats and about 9 guys want to go to Kitimat,June/July/Aug for a week or so. Any advice out there for motels or campgrounds, boatlaunch/marinas, fishing times and places. One of our crew has been there years ago, but up not up to date. Don't want much eh!

I have been to Kitimat alot. We always use the MK Bay Marina. They have everything you need their including fuel. They have a few campsites available their as well.
We usually go out 50 to 100 miles and stay out for a week or so but their is good fishing at times a lot closer to the marina.

do you do any fishing around gil island ? dont see many on here that fish this area . yhank you.

Yes we make our way past their. Their is a good spot on the north end of Gil. Koho are in their in late July and August. Usualy we head to the end of Campania but you really have to pick your days as good hiding spots are hard to find.
Hartley bay has fuel available and public docks with good shelter. thats about 40 to 50 miles out from MK Bay.
I'm from Northern Alberta so it's the closest spot for us.
