hey guys wondering if anyone uses these? do they produce more then standard style flashers?

thx solo

Bought one a couple of weeks ago. Fished it for a few passes. Other side was producing, so when back to the proven stuff. Haven't tried since, but I will.

I have those.

First time I tried them I ran leaders that were too long and I used hole #3 which was too fast rotation.

(was fishing for Chinooks)

Just finished retying a bunch of hoochies so they are 23 inch leaders........and switched to hole #2 (there are three holes at the back of the flasher that control rotation speed and arc)

You can't use long leaders like on a regular flasher for these for hoochies.....I would run spoons shorter too......,bait I would still run 7ft back.....

I've had very hit or miss success with my Kite tails. I've found that it's something worth trying on days where the regular stuff isn't working but I rarely make it my first choice. I've also found that shorter leaders are the way to go.

I ran my standard 6 foot leaders with spoons on the kite tail and it hit 4 fish in rapid succession one morning this spring...Next time out it was slow...Bascially the same as most of my gear I seem to run.

Spoons and bait you can go long leaders...just like a normal flasher.....

But I found I had no action on my hoochies that were tied at 26 and 27 inches......

It was said in a previous thread that Randy, the inventor, goes about 23 on hoochies.

I'd go minimum 40 or 50lb leaders for hoochies on those......you don't have much "shock" elasticity at the really short lengths......

No...you don't HAVE to...but I wouldn't go any less than 40 if you are fishing salt for salmon.....
