Kill bag suggestions

Hey, im just about to order a custom kill bag for my Aluminum fish box on my Hewes.

Love to know what you guys think about the different makes, ive heard WPS does good custom jobs, but im open to suggestions. Im not wanting to cheap out, Im of the opinion that you should buy it once even if it costs you a little more for the quality the first time round.

Thanks guys, much appreciated

JAC had a thread on this last year or the year before, should be able to find it with the search function.

Cheers!

Is this for Tuna? Otherwise, don't see the need unless you are going to be out for several days.

Yea, fair call.. I remember the thread but can not find it to save my life. It may have been lost in the transition to the new site.

Its not entirely about the catch, I have to buy 4 bags of ice for a day out here, thats for everything that needs to be kept cool (Beers included). To me thats just a waste. An insulated bag that fits my Transom box to me just makes sense, that way I can use the area for what its for.

I was hoping the same guys that contributed to the last thread might have some suggestions, these bags arent cheap and I cant remember what the consensus was before

Cheers guys

I have had a WPS custom bag , a reliable bag and a Chinook bag. I think the WPS is the best and I will order another one I'm sure in the future. To be honest all the bags I had were good quality just depends on if you want a custom fit one or not. The reliable bags hold a lot of fish !

Not to bust your chops too badly, Eastmon, but took all of 5 seconds to search and get the old thread. Good stuff here:

Cheers JAC, I ended up going with the WPS bag, purely because they will make a snug fit for my Transom box. Im splitting the box into 2 bags so one will be for the catch and the other will be for drinks/eats etc. Cannot STAND coolers on the deck.

Thanks guys, much appreciated.

Hmmm, seems my reply didnt go through Ukee. I tried searching and then scrolling through but couldnt see anything. I am computer illiterate though. Many thanks ol mate for the help!

No worries, just poking fun. I was thinking the same for my Hewes transom box - two custom cooler inserts matching the split box with the larger for fish and the smaller for drinks and food. Can you share how much and estimated delivery time?

Cheers!

I have a Reliable bag, works great, and very well made. Especially good if you can get dry ice. Brought back fish from Mexico in one, landed in Portland, picked up dry ice, frozen solid for over 30 hrs. However, if you use salt or reg. ice, be sure to bag the fish, eventually the bag will leak some water. Can't replace a rigid cooler.

I was quoted $220 for both, I sent through the drawing of the box that Hewes gave me (gotta say, after sales service by Hewes has been awesome, they are always happy to help). Haven't got a delivery time just yet but I ordered on Friday. Will let you know as soon as I know

I actually ordered it about 1.5" shorted than the box so I can put a grate underneath as to let everything drain away easily. Now I just have to find somewhere that sells grates. I'd love to put some in my infloor box too, when pumping out the water/blood, the fish nose always blocks the pump intake.
Life's a struggle isn't it....
