I agree with this. I wish tbey would have gone all in full rebuild mode on this trade instead of what they got. Not real crazy about the moves today. Are we rebuilding or trying to make the playoffs. I don't think they know. We are sure not contending any time soon. Linden and Benning...not real impressed so far.

it wasn't a gradual or progressive worsening of the team, it was last year, we fell off a cliff face first,
its not a matter of rebuilding, its a matter of rebounding with a little added speed, size, and esp toughness

Kesler had to go. Once it dawned on him he wasn't going to win a cup with the Canucks, he reverted back to the selfish whiner he was when he first arrived in Vancouver. He had some good years when he gave it all for a shot at the big prize, but the passion has gone. Divisive and toxic is what he'd become.

But like Sly said totally agree became very self centered he always has been .... look at the 2010 olympics he didnt have kind words to his fellow teammates (LOU) kinda of being an ASSHAT....

Still think they should have gotten more for him. Wish Benning would have played hardball with him and leaned on him to increase his list if he wanted out. Garrison should have garnered more. I think we sold cheap and bought high on all the deals but at least they are making some change. Time will tell how it works out but our most valuable asset is gone and we did not garner a true top 6 forward or top 4 dman. Just my opinion and I hope I'm wrong.

^ Doesn't help when the refs allowed Boston to kick the snot out of the Canucks in that series (and out of poor Tampa in the East final before that). Surely the ugliest finals of recent years, thank god things have changed for the better. Refs this year were willing to call penalties, not surprisingly 90% of the BS stopped. Made for some dazzling games and I didn't hear too many complaints from fans. 2011 will always be a stolen Cup in my mind.
