Jughead Shakers

i never had any luck with them. i bet they would work well when the opals are spawning along the west coast beaches. low and slow

ive picked up a few of these in various sizes for that reason exactly . they fish somewhat like a jig / swimbait / crankbait . Very popular in warm water fisheries everywere. they make them from 1/4 OZ all the way up to 21oz.

My understanding was a guide out of Ucluelet by the name of A.J. who invented them years ago. Sorry, don't know his full name. He's a guide with Pacific Rim Charters.
AJ created and developed the Jughead, he later sold it to Lighthouse Lures and then GIBBS bought Lighthouse lures. They are not that unque only becuse there was another product made many, many years before AJ's Jughead that is almost identical. I have a photo of it from an old Ebay listing that I came across and it is also featured in one of my tackle collectors guides. None the less, they do work and they are meant to be trolled faster than most tackle. If you search SFBC archives there is lots of Jughead tips, tricks and how-to's from the early years of AJ's product development...or at least there was?

Please note, I am in no way saying anyone copied anyone, only that Jugheads work very well at higher speeds and worth having a few in the box.
