Jughead - A teaser head for Pilchards! What??

Ok. Who is going to carry them around SCVI. When do you anticipate they will be available?

I imagine most tackle places will prob want to carry them. I'll distribute them myself until a distributor picks them up. I'll post here and on my website when they are available.

The action is absolutely wild. Logically it looks great and my mind says yum yum. Whether a salmon is capable of the same thoughts, time will tell. Put me down for one - glow head and ultra violet.

wonder if any of the plug companies have anything to comment on the design?

as what if they say milled a slot in one of there bodies to take bait?

is it not almost the same princeable? not knocking it... just wonder why they have not done it?

you could also take the idea from pike /muskie plugs and have an adjustable lip(click type or spring loaded) to give that waggle and differing action....???????

also there is a gadget out there for hoochies that does the same trick.

tight lines

DAMNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!! I have to admit that is some nice action............i want it, i want it, i want it!!!!!:p

Actually, I had broken a new 7" Pilchard plug, gaff hit, and as I hauled up the other side I snagged a pilchard by the gill plate. Ding! A light bulb lit up, I stuffed the Pilchard into the plug head and wired it on. When I dragged it I could see that it "wanted" to swim but just ...didn't. Kinda rolled up on its side and slid, did some weird stuff. Took the idea, mixed it up with a Pike lure (I guided in NWT a few yrs and have tons of Laker and Pike gear) and ended up with an Apex like action with bait. Kept tweeking it, fishin' it. The vids are the results.

Ya the thing looks crazy. Kinda gives you that itch to go fishin'. Building ultra violet clear and ultra violet blue first run.

Huh...neat action. I will definatly use one for running pilchards! Will keep my eye open for one. Make sure you stop at Tyee in CR on your distribution run.

Tyee in CR ...as in Tyee Marine? Tyee Marine sells my Rod Raps. In fact, I just sent them some more boxes of Rod Raps.

Jughead colours? Some people have been asking for the green/chartreuse and some are asking for glow green. We are making the Jugheads in 2 colours, ultra violet clear and ultra violet blue. Eventually, pending popularity, a rainbow of colours may become available. Personally, in the summer I prefer blue but, my question is, what is the consensus on blue versus green for Jughead's first run?

I'ld love to try the clear uv. As long as there is a fresh sardine in it im sure it will work great! The other colours probably will catch fishermen better though.

I worked the Chicago Lakefront in the 60's when there were so many alewife dying they couldn't truck them out fast enough. I remember sitting in the boat and watching them do their death rolls and the Jughead looks like it has that same action. Please let me know when and where I can get some in the Seattle area. They definitely look like a winner if you can get them to work as they do in the video.
