Any results yet from the first day, fish tactics is not covering the derby this year

Ive been sitting at Pedder Bay watching all the minnows coming in. LOTS of 14-18 pounders. 32 is still the biggest. My buddy is fishing the derby called me and told me they released a tripple header at 6:15 this morning all around 10-16 pounds. Figured they dident want to fill up the license. They also lost another one they figure was mid twenties.

I shall still be down there working on the flooring drooling over all the smilies tonight and tomorrow :(

Nice work Combover, there were alot more fish weighed in today then I expected. But the size was poor more 10-16 pound fish then you can shake a stick at.

I heard only 50 fish were weighed in. And you think that is many? Think again. That leaves about 150 boats without anything.

When I last checked it was 40 mins from final weigh in and they had already had 97 fish weighed in. Add likle 10 more onto that.

Well how did all you guys do? I ended up covered in cement from head to toe while watching salmon after salmon get weighed in. Congrats to all in the derby. Maybe next year the weather and average size of fish might be a little better.

Man, was it ever slow! I think that was the worst 2-day fishing result I have ever seen. ~120 salmon weighed in for what, 700 participants? Wow...

Looks like you guys had a good feed at JdF anyway, they were short staff for the banquet so I was cutting meat for you guys. Say hi at the dock next time maybe we can put some faces to names. I was the only one without a chef shirt on.

Slow for us too... never even saw a net out over two days fishing... I find it sad that two days fishing produced 1 18 pound fish for us and even more concerning that it made the prize list... Really nice to meet you Kelly and congratulations on your fish! If you don't want your prize, give me a call! [:p]

sounds like I made more working then majority of the participants made on prizes!

Thats pretty weak fishing if you ask me! I need to get out there and hone in on my chovy roll and start banging some slabs as they show up! Hardy has been picking up from what I hear so soon we will see some numbers I hope!

what was the largest bottom fish? I figure I had a shot at a big one seeing that I was out on derby day without a ticket...ended up getting a 47 hali out with Doug and a buddy of mine. Had to be worth something if we were in.
