Sounds like someone looking for money to do a study.
Hope they get it. What would not be good about a study that looks into what toxins are building up in our wild fish. I suspect there are some interests who would rather the public not know.

Considering its already being studied and monitored, I'm not sure what throwing another study at what so far has been found to not be an issue will accomplish much other than taking more of our tax dollars for something not too useful.
However, perhaps he should go to private sources such as yourself and others concerned for funding?

Since you are apparently aware of studies that have already been done in recent years and thus think it redundant, how about posting a link to them. I suspect there are a lot of us who would like to know what industrial toxins are in the Pacific fish we eat and also what the sources of those toxins are.
I would also be interested in cross comparative toxin studies between Pacific salmon and Feed lot Atlantics. I have heard that with the artificially very high fat content in feedlot Atlantics that they can contain much higher levels of fat soluble toxins than much leaner Pacific salmon that work for a living. It would be useful to know the actual toxins and numbers.
With the billion dollar plus of public underfunding on a per capita basis compared to the USA that Canada has not put into Pacific salmon over the last decade I would say Canada has an obligation to provide more funding to support our Pacfic Fish. Pacific fish have provided billions to the economy of Canada but they seem to get very little of that money back to support them in being able to continue to provide all that benefit.
