Hi folks
well just to let you know this piece of kit is really really nice.
my buddie has just put one on his boat and has total control over the speed of the kicker from the helm
his is a tiller model just like my yam 9.9 HT
and it has lots more it can do
i'll post a link but use the www for the web

xxx.itroll.us/

or you tube clip
of the demo model

xxx.youtube.com/watch?v=Gmgny9vYW8c

this also got me thinking why not adopt the idea and use a similar system on a downrigger IE on a Scotty electric for letting the ball up/down it won't track bottom like some of the high end cannon's
but you could get it to fluctuate or do a loop cycle similar to the hunt mode that way
you would have the control of up/down and fast or slow troll
anyways will be getting my unit for the end of the month
and will be working on a prototype project model to field test
and keep you posted on the winter results

also a plus point it can tie in to your electric steer (ie Panther)if you have it fitted
so it can all be done from the helm or your steering station
how nice would that be...

Maybe it just me, but that website has way to many details. I lost interest realy quick. IMO I am looking at trollmaster myself.

well FA
hang fire i'll come over the striaght and you can see mine(when it come's ) and then decide the guy" Joel "put a lot of option's into the unit that's for sure
but you can use it as basic or advanced as you wish
thats the beauty of it.
for me just being able to dial in speed on the kicker is sweet
with out going to the back of the boat or asking a buddie to speed it up and him not knowing which way the throttle goes and hence slowing down to much or going to fast.

that's even before you get into any of its advanced features which then sets itself apart from the other units out there in the market place.

but see one in use and if the features that it offers appeal to your style of fishing
the unit cost is worth every $ which ever unit you may use

tight lines john

I can't wait to see yours in action. I have used the trollmaster and am very interested in actually purchasing one for my ProKicker. I will hold off.

I've had the TrollMaster in my lake boat for over 5 years and love it.
But, definitely interested in the ITroll features.
Keep us posted on it.

thanks FA me bad
all cleared now

I just installed the itroll on my F8. This is a high quality piece for sure. I have not tried it yet on ocean however it does work very smoothly for throttle control. By chance I found this while researching options a few month ago called and spoke to Joel who invented it. Had a chance to meet him and get one when I was in Disneyland as their facility is very close by. Certainly will be a big improvement over running back and forth to adjust speed.

I can't seem to find the price, how muchy?

It comes with I think 50 hunt cycles built in xo you can see if you find it useful before you spend $100 on that feature. That is what I am doing, activation is easy if you do want it, call them pay the $ and they give out the code to enter. Other things I liked over competitors was waterproof controller, easy to remove controller, better quality servo and the ability to run 2 motors so you could run the main as well which I thought might be handy for windy, big swells or when you want to zip from spot to spot to find the hot area without fooling around with kicker. They are working on the kits for main motors to fit more motors. Jeez I sound like a commercial, going out to try it today.........

This sounds really interesting-I always wished for a control you could precisely control throttle and thus troll speed. Maybe this is it!!

I've had the TrollMaster for years and loved it. The head unit got hot and fried last summer. It was an older unit and they don't support that one any more so I have to start over with a brand new unit. I noticed that itroll, was, or still is, offering a trade in special. Trade in your old TrollMatser, working or not, and get the itroll for $225.00 (you use your old servo and it plugs into that). This price included the upgrades including Hunt. I'm not sure if that offer is still good or if it was an old offer. I'm calling them tomorrow as it's a no brainer if the offer still stands. We'll see.

There has been a Trollmaster at Cabelas in Nanaimo in the bargin cave for weeks @ $119. It for a Mercury 9.9 Remote model 2005???-present. Mine is tiller or I would have bought it.

If you contact Trollmaster wouldn't they work with you to trade out for the right parts for your kicker set up? At that price it would be worth a call.

If it's for a remote model Merc, why would you need a trollmaster?

When I ordered my trollmaster off the web I ordered the wrong mounting kit. Trollmaster sent me the correct one free of charge after a phone call. I was happy with their service. It's a great unit. I'm sure the itroll is too

K I tried it out this afternoon and definitely a winner. Does everything it is supposed to which will make trolling on kicker more enjoyable for sure. Is it better than its competitors - I don't know as I haven't owned any others, I will say it sure has very precise increases in speed that I found tough to get using tiller throttle.

Just putting this out there..
Rc servo tester, and servo attached to piece of copper wire to actuate carb throttle.
Yer rolling for under $20.fine rpm adjustments,4.5v.
Put this on my 70's johnson 9.9 works great.
