Is This Close Enough

Total BS....To have a US boat comming so close I could have shared my sandwich with him. How close do the so called sailors need to be? 3 in two days. Going to start have my sling shot and bag of ice cubes ready.... New sport here for me... See if I cant land ice cubes in their drinks.

Too bad you guys don't use herring up there... I would have picked up 5 or so and nailed him... if you are lucky he would have found three and boat would have stunk in the AM

And don't forget the well mannered Canadian one finger salute to our comrade :D

notice nobody's at the helm? ...maybe the same guy that made the news a few years ago when he put on the cruise-control on the freeway in his brand new motorcoach, and then went back to make a sandwich...
Auto-pilot should be outlawed on pleasure boats, JMO

Kinda looks like there is someone on the starboard helm no?

I tink that's one of those blow up dolls..

Ahhh yes, the auto pilot

Same thing happened to us last Sat while we were on anchor 10 miles out off of Esperanza. Not a boat anywhere to be seen, then we see this sailboat 5 miles away coming towards us. It was getting closer and closer coming straight towards us. When it was 200 yards away we were ready to do a quick release off the anchor. Then we could see the dude scrambling with his sails frantically and got turned a bit. Just missed us by 100 feet. Couldn't believe it, especially with that much ocean to spare.

Kind of a different note here. Was hovering around the Dinghy Dock Pub last night trying to find a slip. It was full of sailboats. The wife yelled at me ( not normal ) and I looked to my starboard side and a 40 foot sailboat was coming at me, with sails up, had to accelerate from a stop to avoid being rammed broadside. Not sure why he would sail into that area. I'm guessing his sail was blocking his view. Still!!!

I thought there was a NO SAILING restriction in Nanaimo Harbour???

I don't know if there is a restriction or not. I can't for the life of me figure out why someone would sail into that area. So many boats on the hook all around the place and mega power boat traffic.
