Is this a fishing forum ?

Over the last while I have noticed that there is less and less information posted directly related to fishing.
In fact it would appear that some members don't even post unless it's about hockey, jokes, and other topics unrelated to fishing.
It kinda makes me wonder why some of them are on this forum.
I have also noticed that some of the long time members with a wealth of knowledge don't bother to post anymore. Are they fed up with all the unrelated gibberish ?
Maybe it's just me, but i enjoyed the forum better when most of the threads were directly related
to catching fish !

Unfortunately Craven.....it's the nature of the time of the year. One only has to look at the first page of the Saltwater Discussion forum and you'll see that there is not a whole lot of actual "on the water" or "actual" fishing discussion.

I enjoy engaging in both fishing and some of the non-fishing related fun. Lots of threads I sit back and learn, soak up what I can, and chime in where I can; I have an entire folder of "Saved Threads" in my Favourites.

Winter spring fishing will start to pick up soon enough! ;)

The term "winter spring fishing" is confusing and unnecessary. Please refer to it as winter blackmouth fishing from here on Pippen. Thanks.

"Blackmouth?!?!?! Why not just all American and call it winter KING fishing ;-)

And here I was looking forward to a feed of winter spring and jumbo shrimp.

Fishing for compliments? Trolling for an argument? Netting some interweb humour? All things fisherpeople do when there is very little fishing going on.

OK then, a little contest ... free FishingSooke.ca t-shirt to first person who posts a photo showing a successful fishing trip after using Sooke's new public launch. Photo must show the fish and your boat at the ramp, plus come with a fishing report! :-)

Beside prestige hotel. Supposedly they dredged, so it is fully tide capable -- though I'd like some confirmation of that before I try a 0.0 tide launch! Looks to be about 20 trailer spots. Looks wide enough for side by side use, but tie up on only one side, so probably just a one-at-a-time launch.

I totally agree with Pippen. I love a bit of light humor, especially when I can't go fishing!

Take it easy there r.s. This forum is far more than just for fishing. Most of the members are located in a small geographic area. I think it's wonderful that we can discuss different non fishing subjects. Many new friendships have been realized because of this forum. Most other fishing forums are so impersonal. I don't quite understand what your getting at. As in any large group of contributors you will get conflict but I believe the spirit of this forum is sound. Your moderation has been exceptional. I see no reason for any heavy handeness because of recent posts. My 02.;) eman

^This x2^ I have to agree with this also.

Haha rs craven, you got in before me. This post was meant to agree with eaglemaniac.

Hey r.s. Just a response regarding your last few posts. I sensed you might be upset about the direction of this forum. I was trying to ensure you that all is well as far as I'm concerned. As I said. Just my 02.;) eman

"It's all good" indeed. That used to be my tagline before one of our first trolls stole it off me. Now even Macleans French Fries use it. I'm pissed.:D;) eman
