Interesting weather this weekend and Mother's Day

This time of year always brings some interesting weather and experiences. Was over at Gabriola on Saturday and caught some salmon and as an added bonus got to watch a pretty good orca performance. The weather caught my interest though . Sunshine, calm, wind , calm, rain, more wind gusts , calm again, more sun and then rain....and then sudden fog and then back to sun. Weather reported a steady wind of 8-15 knots at Halibut bank and then at 3 am a sudden gust to 33 knots that came outta nowhere and then calm again.
Was over at Gibsons's today for mothers day dinner at Smitty's Oyster bar on a lovely night....on way home went through torrential downpour and sudden gusts of wind but by the time I had the crab traps pulled and boat back at the barn a vibrant sunset appeared and all settled to a peaceful end to te weekend. Gotta love our coast!!

Nice pics Greg awesome sunset, I have to agree with the weird weather seen some of it all for sure on Saturday.
I wished I had of known you were over there I woulda cruised by for a quick hello,
but if you seen the orcas then you were below me closer to the marker I think, I fished up higher towards the Grande
but did here the orcas popped in for an appearance down that way with a real nice breach or two as well
