makes me want to puke and ashamed to have a government that favors the commercial when you see this crap. I'm sure the Canadian fleets run the same way.

I'd be shocked if even 10% of that survives - they are likely out of water for 10 minutes, stepped on, dragged around etc etc

What a joke they have so much rights and that they are even allowed that fishery at all.

We should forward that link to all media possible and see if anyone actually takes notice.
 
I guess this is what Dave Boyes thinks is his right in Canada! He can bloody well call us johnny come lately. This type of crap happened with the carrier pidgeon, buffalo, and was happening with the migratory birds until the sportsman (johnny come lately) stepped in and demanded protection.:(:(

Do we presume these guys are trawling right on the bottom causing all kinds of untold damage? One of the inset quotes, "you can break a bone if you get caught up in the equipment." Really, and those butts have what chance of survival?

Disgusting is certainly one word.
 
That is by far the worst fuc&ing thing I have ever seen.. Longliners are one thing but how in the hell is that even allowed. Are these politicians heads that far up there freaking a##es.B freakin S..-disturbed DIRTY[}:)][}:)][}:)][}:)][}:)]
 
Theses will be the same guys out on a different boat later on targeting halibut and bitching about the lack of fish.
They're only there for one thing. The $$... but it sure pissed you off doesn't it.:(

Already did - just for the heck of it - sure it has no impact, but I challenged her to watch the whole thing and tell me how she feels that these are the people that the government supports the most while the sporty trying to feed his/her family gets the vice grips tighter and tighter each year. I'm sure its a meaningless email, but maybe she DOES have a soul after all!
 
Nice work Deewar we should send this link to all involved if it would do any good. But alas it is all about who can pay off our corrupt government officials and make them the most money.

95% of those fish are dead!!!! I went out on a shrimp trawl one time down in South Carolina and the waste was sickening. As the fish accumulate in the sock, they drown as the pressure against them dosen't allow them to breathe. Once they separated the few shrimp out of the mess, the rest was scooped overboard. They use a 3/4 to 1" steel cable on the bottom of their nets and drop it to the bottom and drag the bottom. That in turn destroys the habitat as it flattens everything out. These bottom trawls need to be outlawed worldwide.
