Looking for insight on what would be a
Decent good bang for the buck industrial sewing machine capable of Marine/auto upholstery. I see some of the other recommendations from other forums are on the high end of 3 grand that’s more than double I want to spend. Perhaps an older used unit could suffice.

There are many. many old used machines for sale, make sure you get a walking foot machine.
I picked up an older Consew 206 like the one in the link but had to upgrade to the servo motor.
I am just not fast enough to use the clutch motor they originally came with.
Seems most used ones run in the $5-800 range and the servo motors are a few hundred so, I think the one in the link is a good price considering it already has the servo motor and Is brand new.

I bought one of these: sewing machine quite a few years ago, it required a little patience in setup but has been really trouble free through dozens of auto and marine seat and canvas projects. It's basically a copy of the sailrite design, or if we're going further back the Thompson walking foot that sailrite bought or copied. Customer service has been good the one time I needed it over the 10 years I've owned it, oh, and that reminds me they've been around at least 10 years.
