From what I know you cannot legally run hydraulic downriggers on a boat except:-
If the boat is an ex-commercial that used to have a license...or..
the boat is an existing commercial boat with a license.
A hydraulic system can easily handle d/balls of much greater weight than sport models such as Scotty or Cannon I believe.
And much more wire..........so you can get down deeper and stay there no problem.
Anybody know of a sport model that can compete witha hydraulic rig?
Know of any home-built plans to make one that can compete witha hydraulic?......I realize it would not be hydraulic but some other power source.....
