Looking for any info from anyone that has spent any time in Hunt Inlet, top end of Porcher. Looks like a good anchorage for a night but curious what the bugs/no see ums are like during the summer.
Friends have a cabin there. I have been there many times. I don't remember bugs ever being a problem like they are in other places. It's very protected and there is also a gov dock there. You are close to Edy pass and some great halibut spots also.
I have anchored there several times over the years. In settled weather have anchored just north of the narrows and south of the narrows in the bay if there's some wind.
Very pretty area and, as noted, good fishing in Edye Psg.
You want bugs go north to Dundas Is, bugs galore!
I was anchored up in Welcome Harbour just west of Hunt Inlet last year.
It is a minefield of rocks and covered in kelp, very sporting in the 30+ knots I was experiencing.
I think the wind blew the bugs away, was not an issue.
