Huatulco, Mexico beach/shore fishing

I figure some fellow fishers might have some info on beach/shore fishing in Huatulco.

I've never taken fishing gear to Mexico but thinking of a light to medium collapsable rod with maybe 30# braid and a mono leader? There is a rocky point east of the Barcelo (where we are staying) past Dreams and what looks like a rock wall at the west end of the beach. I've also read further east is Bocana Beach and the Capalita River that can be fished?

What type of gear/lures do you suggest and I've got no idea what size of fish can be off the beaches? I've read rapalas (what size), what else? Spoons or spinners? What about buzz bombs or twitch jigs? I was thinking of tying up some rabbit hair twitch jigs. What kind of weight is needed to get the lure deep enough? I was thinking of taking some weights and single hooks and see if I can scoop some shrimp from the buffet to use as bait. What size hooks for this? And can small caught fish then be used as live bait for anything larger? How'd you fish live bait, a heavier weight to sit on the bottom and then a leader or just let the bait free swim?

I didn't find anything recent other than a thread from 2019.

I used to go to Huatulco for several years.
Buzz bomb would work good. There is a sewer outfall near the Barcelo I think?... Could be wrong... it's been 10 yrs.
You might also see some locals surf fishing off one of the beaches with hook and weight.

If I take any gear I think I'll for sure take some sliding weights and hooks for pieces of shrimp or something. Along with lures to cast.
