The sheer size of the Cruise Ships continues to boggle my mind.
We went on one cruise on a small 300 passenger trip for a conference that took us around Tahiti. I really like being on the water and in boats.
I began to refer to our trip as a hostage situation after the second day and we got off the ship every day.
I was surprised at my reaction to cruising because I like being on long ferry trips overseas.
Now they have the art of stretching them down to an art and science.
We ocassionally meet the Cruise Ships /Commercial vessels crossing under the Lion;s Gate. Obviously we wait for them to clear the bridge and us.before proceeding. The rental boats from Granville Island are often fearlessly stupid.

Amazing engineering: How to stretch a cruise ship
Slicing huge cruise ships in half, then welding in an extra segment to lengthen them, is more or less a license to print money for cruise operators – so this 'jumboization' surgery is becoming very common. Let's take a look at how it's done.
