How real men remove fish hooks

I've seen that one before, there's a whole series of them on the web including step by step guides if you search for them. Seems to me like one of those "easy when you know how" deals....works quick and easy as long as it works, and if you don't, holy crap would it hurt bad and make it much much worse.

You'd feel a whole lot better if the cap'n has done it before successfully. With all the training required for becoming a fishing guide, this would be a highly practical thing to include .... 'cause it is bound to happen eventually. Or even if not formally a part of the program, get yourself a cut of meat, skin on, and practice it!

i had one in so deep, the shank of the hook was right at skin level. went into the emergency room where everyone laughed while they were dumping **** on me. but i watched how they did it and now carry a small kit just in case. the yank it out method can create lots of internal damage depending on where that hook resides. the pro way was a shot of lydocain, small incision with a razor blade, out it pops clean as a whistle, couple of butterfly bandaids and a shot of iodine or equivalent and your done, quick and easy and zero damage to the patient :)
