How old and how much is this outboard worth?

A friend has a Yamaha 75 H outboard, he is not sure how to read the date on it. It says 01/11, it runs great but is to heavy for his boat. He does not know how many hours on the motor. What do think he should get for the outboard?

Assume this is a 2 stroke ? Depending on the condition $1200-$1500

The best way to assess the condition is with a compression test. The next question is the motor a salty dawg? If the compression numbers are near new and the motor has never seen salt then $3500 isn't out of touch. If its salty then $1500. If the compression is low then its an anchor.
