D3 was the engine recommended by Hourston in 2006 when I repowered my 1984 Hourston 23. I've got a D3-200 that cruises comfortably at 22-26 mph and 6-7 USG per hour. Top speed ~36-38, depending on the load. The 200 hp will plane a full load of fuel and up to 7 people without much loss of performance. The D3 is 500 lbs lighter than the 260 hp gas engine so it jumps up pretty quickly.
